On Face to Face, Tri-Cities Community Television host Geneviève Kyle-Lefebvre sat down with Claire MacLean, CEO of SHARE Family & Community Services, to discuss the upcoming launch of Foundry Tri-Cities—a transformative wellness centre for youth opening this fall at PoCo Place Mall, near the Coquitlam–Port Coquitlam border.

The Foundry Centre will provide integrated, low-barrier services for youth aged 12 to 24, including access to physical and mental health care, substance use supports, peer counselling, and social services—all under one roof.

“Young people shouldn’t have to bounce from office to office to get help,” said Claire. “The Foundry Centre is about creating a space where youth feel safe, respected, and truly seen. One visit can change the course of someone’s life.”

Co-designed with youth through a dedicated advisory committee, the centre prioritizes inclusivity and connection. The centre reflects priorities of today’s generation, especially for LGBTQ+ youth, newcomers, and those experiencing social isolation.

“One in four young people say they feel lonely,” Claire added. “That’s not just sad. It’s dangerous. We’re building a response that’s rooted in belonging.”

The Foundry Centre continues SHARE’s long-standing mission to support people through moments of vulnerability. Each year, more than 30,000 individuals access SHARE programs—from the Food Bank and Rent Bank to disability supports, seniors outreach, and newcomer integration. Claire describes SHARE’s role as “community care in action”.

SHARE’s work is powered in part by generous community support. Events like the IMAGINE Gala (returning March 7, 2026), along with donors, play a vital role. Volunteers are essential to SHARE programs like the Food Bank, English language groups and seniors outreach.
