Adult Substance Use Services

Substance Abuse

Substance use can have an effect on every aspect of our lives; our physical and mental health, our families, homes, and employment. The counsellors at SHARE Family & Community Services are available to help you if you have a substance use concern, and we offer support (usually groups) for people impacted by the substance use of a loved one. If you are concerned about a family member, or if you are in need of help to overcome your own dependency. You can feel yourself again with a bit of help.

If you are an adult (19 years of age and older) interested in receiving counselling, and/or referral services about a concern related to alcohol or other drugs, please drop in to either of our locations (see below) and ask for an Alcohol and Drug Self-Referral Report package. You may complete this package at your convenience and submit it, in person, to our Clarke Street office (please see the “Contact Us” information below) reception at either office.  It is important to do this in person so that we can provide you with an appointment for an Intake Interview, and register you as a client. Reception staff will then provide you with an appointment for an Intake Interview.

During the Intake Interview, you and a professional counsellor will meet to discuss your current concerns, needs, and goals, and developed a plan for services.  This plan may include services such as individual, couple, family, or group counselling, or referrals to other services in the community. Please check with your counsellor concerning the availability of individual, couple, or family counselling.
