On Saturday September 15, 2018, SHARE Family & Community Services Society will receive the first weekly donation of 30 pounds of fresh salmon for the Food Bank, generously donated by Marine Harvest Canada. This on-going weekly donation is enough to feed approximately 100 people each week and was generously arranged by Joan Isaacs, MLA for Coquitlam-Burke Mountain.

SHARE’s recently expanded refrigeration capacity has enabled us to focus on getting fresh produce, meat, fish and dairy to our food bank clients. Each year SHARE serves over 6,000 people through our Food Bank. Of those served, 37% are children and 12% are seniors. These people are our neighbours, friends and colleagues – all of whom need a little help in making ends meet and to feed themselves and their families.

The Food Bank is truly powered by community – relying on over 300 dedicated volunteers and is 100% sponsored by the generous donations of members of the Tri-Cities community. The support of community leaders like MLA Isaacs and organizations like Marine Harvest Canada allows SHARE to ensure everyone has access to the healthy food they need to reach their full potential. We thank Joan and the great folks at Marine Harvest Canada for this amazing support.
